Out of Hours Outreach Worker

Orla completed her Addiction Studies in 2021 and has since completed training in the Community Reinforcement Approach, the Resonance Factor, Key working, Care Planning and Case Management, Harm Reduction in Needle and Syringe Exchanges, SAFE TALK Suicide Prevention, Trauma Informed Care and Children First to name a few. In the past, Orla was trained as a qualified Holistic Therapist. Orla joined Ballyfermot Advance Project in February 2022 as an Out of Hours Outreach Worker. As part of this role Orla supports those who are in addiction and or are homeless in need of support, signposting individuals in the direction to Ballyfermot Advance where they can link in with a Keyworker/ Support worker/ Counsellors as well as attending the Drop-in where they can get a hot meal, have a shower, and use the laundry facilities. Orla engages each person she comes in contact with a friendly face to talk to, a non-judgemental ear to be listened to and to be treated with respect, compassion and empathy.
